Dr. Maha Al-Freih is an Assistant Professor of Instructional Design & Technology at the College of Education at Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University (PNU) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She earned her PhD in Learning Technologies Design Research from George Mason University, an MA in Teaching and Learning with Technology from Santa Clara University, and BS in Computer Science from King Saud University. She has previously served as the Vice Dean of Learning and Teaching at the College of Business Administration at PNU and is currently a consultant at the National eLearning Center (NeLC) and Tatweer Education Holding Company. Her primary research interests include Ethics of Care in Online Learning, Learners’ Engagement and Persistence in Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), Self-Regulated Learning (SRL), and Design-Based Research (DBR).
