Dr. Ghania Zgheib is the Head of the Education Department at the University of Balamand, Lebanon. She is also an Assistant Professor of Instructional Design and Technology. Dr. Zgheib has a PhD in Instructional Design and Technology and an MS in Educational Psychology from George Mason University, USA. She also holds an MA in Applied Linguistics from USEK, Lebanon. She also served as faculty fellow for the Mason Online Center where she organized professional development sessions for online faculty and reviewed online courses using instructional design principles. Dr. Zgheib has over 15 years of teaching experience in K-12 and higher education. She also developed several online courses for different universities while working for iDesignEdu. Recently, Dr. Zgheib has developed the Guidelines of Quality Assurance for Online Providers for the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority. Dr. Zgheib has conducted many workshops for teachers and university instructors to enhance their online teaching and technology integration into their courses. Dr. Zgheib’s research focuses on online learning and social media use in higher education and on teacher professional development.
